How to apply for a mainstream nursery place in Hitchin for 2020/2021
Although our school does not have its’ own nursery, we wanted to make you aware of how to apply for a mainstream nursery place in Hitchin, in the academic year children turn 4. Parents have the choice of using their free hours of nursery entitlement between private providers or local authority nurseries. Parents need to approach individual nurseries about applying for a place.
In order to make the process easier for parents, all the schools in the Hitchin area with a nursery class, have aligned their application timeline. Although parents still need to apply to the nurseries individually, the process and time frame to do so is the same for all the settings.
The timeline below shows the application timeline for all nurseries in the Hitchin area linked to mainstream schools (Codicote, Highbury, Highover, Offley, Oughton, Purwell, St Andrews and Strathmore Schools). Please note that York Road Nursery has a separate timeline.
This timeline applies to nursery places for the settings listed above for admission in 2020/21 (children who turn 4 between 1/9/20-31/8/21).
