Reception Blog

The Reception Team had a fantastic first week! The children were spectacularly confident and came into the classroom easily and happily.  By the Friday we had quite a few who were obviously flagging but again were very happy to come into class.

We were also thrilled to see how tidy they are, with twenty nine sweatshirts, coats, plimsolls and shoes to be stored in the cloakroom it is a pleasure to walk through and see plimsolls in baskets and sweatshirts and coats on pegs, long may it continue!

Our first week was particularly easy with regards to the curriculum with an emphasis on learning how to get along together, we learned the golden rules and a little song to remind us.

The Golden Rules

We are gentle 

We are kind and helpful

We listen carefully

We tell the truth

We look after our belongings

We work hard

We watch carefully to see anyone following these rules and they get their picture or a comment on our Golden Rules board.

The start of the second week has again been lovely with nearly all the children coming into the classroom by themselves.  We had our first formal dance lesson today and I have to say that Archie and Eva showed some super moves, tiptoeing very gracefully around the hall.
